The York HH8 horizontal discharge variable speed heat pumps are the outdoor section of a high-efficiency heating and cooling system. The outdoor units are designed to be connected to a matching indoor coil with sweat connect lines. Match each HH8 unit with one ducted indoor unit. This unit is not designed for application in a ductless configuration. Sweat connect units are factory charged with refrigerant for a nominal sized matching indoor coil plus 15 ft of field-supplied lines.

• 360 DC inverter driven technology: With 360 DC inverter driven technology, compressor rotation direction and speed is controlled, optimizing energy usage and compressor stability through the range of operating conditions. This guarantees optimal space temperature control while providing quiet operation.
• Pressure sensor: This unit contains pressure sensing technology, which detects low pressure in cooling mode and high pressure in heating mode to protect the system from damage. Intelligent control can also be achieved by calculating the indoor coil temperature from system suction pressure.
• Smaller outdoor form factor for installation flexibility: This side-discharge outdoor unit saves roughly 35% space over traditional air conditioners. It offers the flexibility of wall, yard, or roof installation.
• Stable temperature control means optimal comfort: The DC inverter is able to provide full capacity at startup to cool or warm quickly and adjusts speed to prevent temperature fluctuation and energy loss.
• Agency listed: Safety certified by UL 60335-2-40:2022 Ed.4 and CSA C22.2#60335-2-40:2022 Ed.4. Performance certified to ANSI/AHRI Standard 210/240 in accordance with the Unitary Small Equipment certification program.

The York JHC Air Handler provides the flexibility for installation in upflow, downflow, horizontal right, or horizontal left applications. These units may be located in a closet, utility room, attic, crawl space, or basement. These versatile models may be used for cooling or heat pump operation with or without electric heat. Top or side power and control wiring, color-coded leads for control wiring, and electric heaters all combine to make the installation easy and minimize installation cost. Electric heat kits are available as field-installed accessories. An R-454B refrigerant detection system (RDS) is factory installed.

• A casing size of 20.5 in., smooth sides, and rigid construction provide ease of attic access and tight applications. Front facing components, slide out blower, laser cut knock outs and integrated duct flanges shorten install time.
• Modular blower control board: The control board can be controlled with a standard (conventional) thermostat or with a HX communicating control.
• Cabinet air leakage: Less than 2% at 1 in. W.C. external static pressure when tested in accordance with ASHRAE Standard 193.
