The Complete Agitator Assembly is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This assembly includes the central vertical agitator component along with the retainer ring. Together they are responsible for the agitation and rubbing motions that work to remove soils and stains from clothing during wash cycles. Causes of a bad agitator assembly can include wear and tear leading to wobbly or loose motions, cracks in plastic components from repeated impacts, or corrosion of metal components.
