The Goodman / Amana Bi-Flow Filter Drier is designed to absorb any excess moisture in the refrigerant while also removing contaminants including moisture, dirt, acid and solder flux, beads and filings.  The purpose of a refrigerant drier is to ensure the refrigerant system stays clean and dry.
