The Tub Dampening Strap Retainer is an OEM replacement part for GE washing machines. This clip holds the tub dampening strap in place within the washer tub assembly.  The tub dampening strap retainer works to secure a suspension strap that helps reduce vibrations and noise during spin cycles.  Causes of a bad retainer can include cracks, breaks or deformation from over time or excessive strain on the retaining clip. Normal wear and tear is also common.
